If for some reason you question is not answered here, please e-mail, call or ask me when you drop off/pick up your child.
Can I volunteer in my child's class?
Yes, as long as you have filled out a volunteer packet from the office and have a valid background check through the school. Once you have been approved you can come in at your scheduled time, as long as your child does not become affected by it.
Please contact Danielle Persons, our PEP Booster president to fill out a volunteer packet. She can be reached by email at [email protected] or you can stop by the front office for information. You will need a completed volunteer packet/fingerprint card if you are interested in volunteering at Paradise Honors Elementary School and to chaperon field trips.
Do I have to attend Parent Teacher Conferences?
Yes, at PHES we have 4 face to face Parent-Teacher Conferences a year. During that time we create an ILP, (individual learning plan), you have to attend and sign the form.
If we go on vacation during school time, does my child need to get work?
Yes, it is a grade on their report card. If you child is going to be absent please let me know, so I can provide the work they will miss.
Does my child need snacks or water bottles at school?
Yes! Your child needs to bring a water bottle filled only with water each day. They also need a healthy snack for afternoon
snack, teachers do not proved snacks. Please do not send in candy or messy items for snack. Good suggestions are crackers, granola bars (without peanut butter), an apple, grapes, fruit snacks.
What are the school hours?
School begins at 7:45am. However students are allowed in as early as 7:30 am. Attendance is sent in by 8:00, so if you are running late you have to drop by the office and get a late pass. Exceptions are Early dismissal days, which will be marked on your monthly calendar.
School ends at 2:20 and you will come to my door (E8) to pick up your child.
What should my child bring each day?
A backpack, with their name clearly labeled on it, a lunch box or have money on their lunch account, snack, a water bottle and their take home folder.
How do I know how my child is doing on a daily basis?
Your child will be taking home a "Daily Take Home Folder". In their folder will be a behavior calendar. I will be using this
calendar to communicate behavior to you each day.
